A collection of beautiful head vases

We arrived back from the States, exhausted, tired but very happy! Much fun and enjoyment was had by all as we spent a lot of time visiting local swap meets, flea markets and antique malls in the Los Angeles area. I will upload the photos over the next few days.

The following pictures are of some of the beautiful head vases that my sister has been collecting for me over the last few months ~ aren't they stunning? They have been around since the 1940's, but became very popular from the early 1950's. Originally sold by florists to the public to hold cut flowers or plants they were mostly produced in Japan. Ranging from fairly plain faces to the very glamorous and ornate, they look lovely assembled together with a bit of bling and a few pearls. Some of the manufacturers to look out for are Inarco, Enesco, Relpo, Reubens, Velco, Napco and Lefton. Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Onassis and Lucille Ball all had head vases modelled after them and they are highly sought after by collectors today.

Aren't they just adorable ~ thank goodness for lovely sisters ..........
